Architect and researcher born and raised in Madrid. Awarded with honors for the master’s thesis project << A clay garden in Graça >> at the Polytechnic University of Madrid [ETSAM]. Currently researching experimental codes in landscape cartography and the fabricated ethnography around Central Park in relation to socially-committed urban planning; spatial iconicity in collective memory and bodily relationship with territory, identity and contemporary mass-media representation.

<<< People-watcher and curious by nature, I am in constant awe of the smallest detail in social dynamics. >>> Being so, an observant onlooker, my creative self enrichens from the awake sighting of passersby : a café, a park, the street and specially any means of transportation. With a mindful glance, I seek inspiration in what surrounds me learning to cherish the lingering escapism that defines my understanding of the urban habitat we are immersed in while reaffirming my nature-loving identity.

Thriving at the possibility of converging this amateur anthropological observation with a qualitative analysis of the environment, my agency of architecture aims to research the elastic condition of spaces and the collective memory they carry, the liminal body of what has been previously considered architecture. The constant flux of visual references, cultural media, and the fact that our social behavioral knowledge -and spatial logics- are being challenged to evolve overnight demands an unprecedented resilience of designers. <<< I believe that society demands a shift in the notion of our profession.>>> There is now a boundless domain of what was previously enclosed as architecture. What before was a sensible gaze to simultaneous situations such as protecting the territory through urban planning, assuming the potential momentum of a site or the void through landscape design, defining new “models” of habitable spaces or engineering new optimized digital craftmanship in construction techniques, now acquires a whole new dimension, a social conscience that before wasn’t acknowledged. We take up space and materialize political and historical moments with our decisions in a way that makes us be aware of the social critical feedback, looking back with perspective to the roots of our identity.

Drawn from this small manifesto of sorts, my aim is to research the inclusive development of combinatorial spaces, the flânerie condition of the subliminal in architecture. As if a space could emerge as a ruin before being created, reading what is that transcends physical experience to attribute a space of the significance of an icon. Evermore committed with climate change advocacy and our role of bringing people together through spatial operations, I am constantly educating myself to be meaningfully engaged in current pressing issues such as environmental and spatial justice. As designers and citizens of the world, we are constantly reinventing our role as creators, but I feel like we have to revisit the damage of non-committed spatial decisions that will last for entire generations.
